Employment
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of speech-language pathologists is projected to grow 27% from 2018 to 2028. Audiology is expected to grow 16% during the same period. Both of these occupations allow practitioners to work directly with clients of all age groups. One hundred percent of MVNU's CSD class is already employed.
Hands-on Experience
Third- and fourth-year students in the CSD program have the opportunity to work with clients across the lifespan in the on-site clinic, as well as in the community. The requirement of clinical experience at the undergraduate level is a distinct advantage of enrolling at MVNU.
Location
MVNU is one of the few private colleges in Ohio with its own speech, language and hearing clinic located at Hunter Hall Clinic for Communication Sciences and Disorders. This center allows our CSD students to gain hands-on experience in the field, providing them with a major advantage when applying to graduate school. Hunter Hall is located in friendly downtown Mount Vernon, just a few miles from the main campus. Take a virtual tour of Hunter Hall.
Scholarships
Students should complete the FAFSA online to be considered for federal financial aid in addition to the online application for admission. MVNU’s code is 007085. MVNU also has many endowed scholarships available for students of a wide variety of backgrounds and majors.
